Hair Care > Myths

  • Vinegar - Is actually good to use. It's acidic and makes the hair to "close" the scales on the hair shaft making it reflect more light. So if you do not mind the smell - be my guest.
  • Baby oil - Will not harm your hair and has no value to the hair. It will make hair look greasy and attract a lot of dust. It could get onto the scalp and clog the pores. It will make your pillow greasy... But why use oil when you can use a conditioner that may contain nutritional ingredients (protein and vitamins) and sun screen?
  • If you shampoo hair less, it will get healthier - It will get oily and atract a dust and a dirt and will cause a bacterial growth on the scalp.
  • Shampooing hair every day makes it oily - Oily hair has over productive sabacious glands and needs to be shampooed every day.
  • Split ends travel all the way to the root area - This is not proven, it just makes hair look frizzy and unhealthy, so just nice regular little trims and use of conditioner on the ends and styling it will make hair look beautiful all the time.
  • If woman is pregnant or has her monthly period, her hair will not take any chemical process (color, perm etc.) - Chemical process has nothing to do with hormonal changes of the woman's reproductive system.
  • Hair stops growing after it reaches a certain length - A hair growth is an on-going process, it grows to certain length, then falls out, after a resting period new hair grows in.
  • Frequent hair cuts make hair grow faster and longer - Growth cycle is predetermined in your genes
